Black and white photographs of maritime scenes from N.C., Va., and Md. Includes images of lighthouses, sailors, docks, sailing vessels, and steamships, and in particualr, the SS Queen of Bermuda, the paddle steamer Delta Queen, the schooner Chiquimula, and skipjacks sailing in the upper Chesapeake Bay. The photographs were featured in shows, exhibitions, and publications in and around the Chesapeake Bay area.

A life-long professional photographer from Richmond, Va. Co-founder of the Camera Club of Richmond. Worked for the Richmond News Leader and, later, Miller & Rhodes department stores as a catalog photographer. Was also instrumental in the photography section of Richmond's Virginia Fine Arts Center. Received many awards; gained renown when his photographs appeared on the covers of Newsweek and The Saturday Evening Post. Died in Richmond in September of 1998. From the description of...
